General Information | Alocasia Bambino is a relatively low-maintenance plant and does not require special care and conditions. It has a particular period of dormancy. During this time, the leaves fade, and the plant stops growing. Remove dead leaves and water a lot less, it will reshoot when the weather gets warm enough. |
Size | Height: 30-40cm. |
Foliage | The narrow leaves of an Alocasia Bambino plant are a beautiful shade of dark green with bright venation. Plus, they’re dark purple on the underside. These leaves generally grow as long as 15 to 18 cm and as broad as 5 cm. |
Positioning | Bright, filtered sunlight, no strong, direct sun. Can survive in 80% shade but prefer about 60% shade. |
Soil | A fast-draining, well-aerated potting soil. An organic, loose soil that contains a good amount of peat moss is ideal. If the soil is heavy, lighten it with some builder’s sand or perlite. |
Watering | It needs to be watered when the first 1 – 2 inches of soil is dry, that usually takes about 1 week in an average home environment. It may vary depends on environment and light condition, but it’s always safer to underwater or give the soil a check before doing the watering. When watering, thoroughly saturate soil until a little water runs out of the botton of the pot. |
Ideal For | Tabletops and shelves as an ornamental plant due to its small size. |
